Hanging Out with the Boys

Rich is starting with a new company in 1 1/2 weeks, so we are having a little "staycation" time. It's just nice to have him around to be able to do more things. We went to see Cars 2 yesterday (which Bennett only lasted about 20 minutes and then I left and went shopping...one reason it is nice to have the hubby around) and the boys have been spending every day at the pool. We are planning on going to the lakehouse for a few days, still want to go to a waterpark and we booked a room in Arlington to attend the Rangers game and Six Flags. DFW offers so much fun for my age kids, why leave? We looked into resorts in Texas, Hill Country, Austin, Galveston, Port Aransas but for the last minute planning and money, we just decided it would be way more fun and a LOT less stressful to just hang around and have a "staycation". Looking forward to just being with my boys because Rich will be doing a lot of traveling coming up.
So my posts may be limited over the next week and a half or maybe they will be more frequent...who knows. We are just having fun every day and loving life!!

Rockin C Ranch ROCKS!

Last week Carter was at camp for a week at Rockin C Ranch. He would get on the bus at 8:00 am and ride about 30 minutes to an outdoor, working Christian ranch. They feed animals, collect chicken eggs, ride horses, shoot bb guns and play in the lake. He loves it, this is his 3rd year going. Then at 5:00 you go and pick him up at the bus stop.
On Thursday the boys and I headed to Tyler and then we went to pick up Carter from the bus stop. We missed him!

Here comes the bus..

While Carter was at camp on Friday, I decided to help mow my parents yard. As you see, I have a little helper.

On Friday night, we went out to camp to pick up Carter. Brothers reunited at last!

Landon got a blister because he had his shoes on backwards so he had to snag Bennett's stroller. It was a traumatic experience.

Lazy Sunday

Today was what I call a "just about as perfect as it gets" kind of day. We tried a new church today and I really liked it. It is the same church that Carter has played Upwards for and Landon went to VBS there last week. I have been wanting to try it because it had that "everybody knows everybody" feel to it and it is on the other side of the highway and it makes you feel like you are in the country. The VBS kids got to get up on the stage today and sing...that would be all of them EXCEPT Landon. He practiced his songs all week (cd was provided by the church), but every day he practiced he followed it with "I am NOT getting on the stage" and when it came down to walking on the stage, Landon refused to walk up the steps. He just stood there. Oh well, I guess I will not beat myself up that I didn't bring the camera.

After church, we went to Pizza Inn because we had two free kids buffet coupons (thanks to VBS) and thank goodness the kids machines were all turned off. Why can't every place do that? I hate when you walk into a restaurant and all you want to do is eat but you can't because you are either a. digging for change or b. watching your kids throw fits because you refuse to give them more money.

The rest of the day was spent getting haircuts, cleaning house and Rich cooking awesome ribs!

I have some pics to upload, so I will try and post some pictures tomorrow night.

My New Blog

Every day I am constantly amazed at the things my boys say or do AND every day I tell myself I need to write it down. Therefore I have decided to start a new blog recording my memories from here on out. Bennett, Baby Bennett, Bennett Boo or Boo (he is our child with many names) now completes our life, so I felt it only fitting to start a new blog and close the other. I stopped my last blog and have had it printed into a book. After doing that, I realized even more how important it was to record the memories. I will do my best to record the good, the bad, the ugly and most importantly the moments that absolutely take my breath away. Enjoy!
